Denis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns claimed a 2-0 win over ES Setif in the CAF Champions League Group A match on Saturday.
Onyango did not play the game as the side made up for earlier elimination despite returning after club AS Vita were kicked due to player fielding inconsistencies.
Pitso Mosimane’s charges succeeded thanks to goals from Tiyani Mabunda and Khama Billiat.
Fan trouble led to the clash being suspended briefly late on, with missiles also thrown at Stade du 8 Mai 1945 but the South African side held on to victory.
Zesco United also triumphed, defeating eight-time champions Al-Ahly in Group A, 3-2. Salah Saidi helped Wydad Casablanca in the same group as they overcame Asec 1-0.
