Serbian born tactician Milovan Rajevac was appointed the new head coach of the Algeria national football team.
The development was confirmed by the Algeria Football Federation (FAF).
He takes over the mantle from Christian Gourcuff, who resigned in April 2016.
Rajevac’s first task at hand with the ‘fennecs’ will be against Lesotho at the Mustapha Tchaker stadium, Blida in the AFCON 2017 qualifiers.
He was handed the task of taking the team to atleast the semi-finals of the 2017 AFCON in Gabon as well as qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
He has previously coached the Ghanaian U-20 team and their national side as well.
Rajevac officially starts work on the 1st of July 2016 with the official presentation slated for July 12.
Nabil Neghiz remains as the deputy coach, Yazid Mansouri stays as overall manager of the team and Guillaume Marie will continue with physical preparation.
Also, Belhadji-Bolly partnership as the two goalkeepers’ trainers is maintained.
