What a better way to kick-start the pre-season at one of the most supported football clubs in the country.
Express Football Club realized atleast Shs100M during fans’ day out at their Mutesa II Stadium home on the first day of July.
The day was specifically designed for the fans to network, brain storm ideas and raise the club’s awareness across the boarders.
By 10 a.m, loyal club fanatics had started to access the vast facility.

Small sided football games involving officials, fans and city celebrities were organized and held successfully by 4 p.m.
Fans feasted, drank and enjoyed every passing minute as the day’s MC’s (Abbey Mukiibii and Wycliff Luyombo) entertained with odd jokes.
Club new chairperson, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi smiled ear to ear as the fans and invited guests enjoyed the moment.

Contributions in cash and pledges excited the loyalists with Uganda Police (Crime Prevention Unit contributing a lion’s share of Shs30M).
In his typical flamboyant philanthropism, Jack Pemba offered U.S dollars totaling to Uganda Shs5M.

The festivity offered a plat for a rare warm hug between the reigning FUFA President Moses Magogo and his predecessor, Lawrence Mulindwa, also an Honorary FUFA President.
Mulindwa offered a cheque worth Shs10M, Magogo contributed Shs3M, FUFA parted Shs10M, Kiyingi (husband to club chairperson Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi) offered Shs10M while the club’s newly appointed brand ambassador Bobi Wine contributed Shs5.01M.
Others were Rubaga South member of parliament, Kato Lubwama with Shs5M, Francis Ntalazzi (Shs5M), Afande Tumukunde (Shs5M).

“It was a great day for the fans. We have a lot in stock for the club with festivities to mark 60 years planned for next year (2017)” club chairperson, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi assured.
Express is plotting for strategies to revive the old club face ahead of the 2016/17 season which starts officially in August.
