Ugandan coach Jackson ‘Mia Mia’ Mayanja has been replaced by ex-Azam Coach John Omog at Simba.

Omog, who worked with George “Best’ Nsimbe at the Chamazi based club has signed a two year deal with the Msimbazi.

Mayanja took over at Simba in mid-season as interim manager after the club sacked Briton Dylan Kerr but has failed to convince the management after finishing third on the log.

Besides, the ex-Ugandan international fell out with compatriots Murushid Jjuuko, Brian Majwega and club top scorer Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza and thus was living on a knife edge.

In his own words, Omog who guided Azam to the 2013/14 Vodacom Premier League title unbeaten requested to be offered time at the pressure club.

I’m pleased to sign a contract to work Simba SC, is a great club and I believe the mutual cooperation and leadership, members and players can succeed. We need to be given time to change Simba. The change can’t come as a magic wave as patience is needed to make it possible.

Omog has previously worked with the Cameroon national team; The Indomitable Lions and AC Leopards of Congo among others.
