The Rugby Cranes will only rest after their last game of the Africa Rugby tier 1A tournament against Kenya.

The side, after defeating Zimbabwe in Harare on Saturday, will resume serious training Monday evening as they prepare for their last fixture.

“We shall rest after the tournament but for now there is a lot of work to be done,” head coach John Duncan told Kawowo Sports on the team’s return on Sunday.

The result in Harare gives Uganda the advantage to stay in Africa’s elite division with struggling Zimbabwe only deriving hope from the mathematical rather than realistic possibility.

The last game against Kenya is a two-in-one kind of game since it will act as the second leg of the Elgon cup.

Kenya have the advantage having defeated Uganda 48-10 in the first leg at Legends Rugby Grounds in June.

“We have to focus on the next game now, we can’t keep looking at the games that have ended,” the South African tactician, who was behind Uganda’s promotion, last year, told this website.

Namibia are in pole position to wind up the championship as they lead the log with 10 points while Uganda are second with 6 points after two games.

Kenya are third with 5 points while Zimbabwe, who have lost two home games, only have the losing bonus collected from the Uganda game.
