Footballer, Ivan Lubaale is a darling in the Eastern region of Uganda.

From Mbale district where he rose to prominence through his effortless work at the Mbale based Child Restoration Organization (CRO) Football Club, across Tororo, Bugiri, Mayuge, Iganga to Jinja, Lubaale is a house hold name.

Jinja based premier clubs have almost all had an equal share of his enviable services.

He started his Jinja expedition at BUL in the season of 2014/15, then to Jinja Municipal Council Hippos (joined in January 2016) and has now settled at Bugembe side, Sadolin Paints Football Club.

He expressed his delight to Kawowo Sports after scoring the winner for Sadolin Paints against Bul

I feel honored to be loved by all the Jinja clubs. I will continue to work hard and see that i graduate to the Kampala sides.

Lubaale scored two goals in the just concluded Eastern region G-4 tournament to guide Sadolin Paints to victory.

His stunning long range effort against his former pay master, Bul in the very last game of the G-4 tournament left every spectator completely amazed.

I saw the goalkeeper (Emmanuel Kalyowa) off his line and tried to shoot. Despite the fact that I was too far from the goal, the kick was brilliant and we all smiled. I loved the goal too.

Lubaale joins other new faces at Sadolin Paints as Buruhan Matovu (from Bright Stars), goalkeeper Paul Mujampani (from Sadolin Young) and Fred Kyambadde, formerly at Wandegeya Football Club.

The new Premier League season starts on 19th August 2016 with all the 16 clubs in action.

David Isabirye is a senior staff writer for Kawowo Sports where he covers most of the major events.
