Crested Cranes coach Majida Nantanda’s mood at halftime against Zanzibar in the ongoing CECAFA Women Championship was of one a person riding at the right path.

Her side was leading 3-0 thanks two Hasifa Nassuna and Fazirah Ikwaput and Christine Nanbigire. Nantanda danced to Ziza Bafana’s Tuli Majje tune at halftime.

The second half was even easier for Uganda. Nassuna completed her hattrick and there was room for her to get a fourth.

Laki Otandeka also grabbed her brace as Ikwaput completed hers too, that made Nantanda believe.

“We had to pick ourselves up from the Kenya defeat and win all our next matches to get to the semifinals. And with one game to go we must win against Burundi,” she vowed.

Burundi did lose to Kenya 4-0, a detail that makes the Thursday tie must win for both sides and it’s not only Nantanda who believes they can.

“We prepared well against Zanzibar and got the result, we need to prepare even better against Burundi. We must qualify for the semis,” vowed England based Jean Sseninde.

Kenya have already qualified for the semis with their two wins against Uganda and Burundi.
