Africa Women Cup of Nations finals 2016:

Opening Day (19th November):  Cameroon Vs Egypt – Yaoundé

  • Group A: Cameroon, Egypt, South Africa, Zimbabwe
  • Group B:  Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, Kenya

The 2016 draws of the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) finals were held on Sunday in Yaounde, Cameroon.

It is a tough draw for all the countries that was witnessed by the CAF president Issa Hayatou, Cameroon Premier Philemon Yang, Cameroon FA president Tombi A Roko and some of the countries football legends like Rigobert Song.

Hosts Cameroon, Egypt, South Africa and Zimbabwe are housed in group A.

East Africa representatives, Kenya are in group A alongside three West African countries – Nigeria, Ghana and Mali.

The official match will take place on the 19th November 2016 between Cameroon and Egypt.

During the draws, Cameroonian Association of Universities paid homage to Hayatou upon his new role as LOC Honorary Member.

Also, the official mascot that will be used at the tournament was unveiled officially.

The tourney official anthem is “hommage to the footballers” composed by Charlotte Dipanda and Richard King.

Two playing grounds will be used throughout the tournament – Municipal Stade De Limbe and Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaounde.
