  • KCCA Soccer Academy Vs Police Armless-Brigade – Lugogo, 4:00 p.m

The 2016 FUFA Elite Youth league officially commences on Friday, 23rd September 2016 with one fixture on the menu.

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Soccer Academy hosts Police Armless Brigade in a fixture that will take place at the KCCA Stadium in Lugogo.

The Lugogo based Junior side finished as first runners up after they last season in the finals to eventual winners, Vipers Juniors Team in a match that was decided via a penalty shoot out when normal time had ended goal-less.

Match Referees:

Emmanuel Opio from Bukedea (North East) will officiate the opening match. Opio will be assisted by David Ssengonzi (Kampala region), Beine Bernard (Western Region) and Mukasa Abdul Razake (Eastern Region).

Playing Equipment:

On Friday, all the 16 clubs recieved an assortment of playing gear. The equipment consisted of a full set of jerseys-20 pieces, 20 shin guards, 20 football boots, 20 training bibs and 15 soccer balls donated by Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).

The hand over ceremony was witnessed by FIFA Technical Development Officer Govinden Thondoo and FUFA Technical Director Asuman Lubowa.

All the 16 top flight clubs in the league must have a junior side as a requirement to possess a valid playing licence.

Coaches to be paid:

Each of the head coach for the 16 Junior sides will be paid a monthly salary by FUFA.

FUFA Youth development officer Bashir Mutyaba confirmed that all each players of the 16 clubs’ playing squad underwent the mandatory MRI Scan at Mulago Hospital (paid by the Federation) to ascertain the true ages of the players.

The scans were conducted to ascertain the true age bracket of the players and reduce on the age cheating vice.

Defending Champion:

Vipers SC Junior Team is the defending champion following a 4-2 penalty shoot out win over KCCA FC Soccer Academy at Kawempe Muslim Senior Secondary School sports ground in June.

Hat trick: JMC Hippos FC Junior Team, Lweza Orange Brigade, Express Junior Team, The Saints Junior Team, Sc Villa Jogoo Junior Team, Soana Soccer Academy, Kirinya Jinja Junior Team, Bright Stars Junior Team
