2016 Entebbe Airport Football League: Fresh Handling 2-1 Airforce

A way from the hectic work schedules and efforts to beat deadlines at work around Entebbe International Airport, a football league was born for the workers.

The league tagged ‘Entebbe Airport Stakeholders football tournament’ has now run for the past three years, bring together as many as 5 teams.

This year, Fresh Handling overcame the defending champions Uganda Peoples Defence Airforce (UPDAF) 2-1 in a thrilling match at the Entebbe Airport football Grounds.

Fresh Handling was rewarded with a trophy, medals and a bull while UPDAF was rewarded with a goat and medals.

Lake Victoria Hotel’s Kawawa Junior was crowned league Top Scorer.

He netted a total of six goals while UCIFA’s Nyanzi Aziz was crowned best fair player of the Tournament.

In the third place play off match, Lake Victoria Hotel edged their hotel business nemesis Protea 1-0.

Entebbe Airport league Chairman Tom Byarugaba awarded several certificates of recognition to different individuals and institutions for their support towards the success of the league.

Civil Aviation Authority Director of Airports Solomon Kagoro presided over the awarding of medals and trophies.

The league chairperson, Tom Byarugaba lauded the stake holders for participating in the event;

It is through the Airport football league that we as different Stake Holders at the Entebbe Airport unite, socialize and build partnerships with one another. I would like to thank Lake Victoria Hotel and Protea Hotel for the support they have rendered towards the success of the league. Our aim is to make the league bigger and better next season

A total of 5 teams took part in the event. Fresh Handling, UPDAF, UCIFA, Lake Victoria Hotel and Protea Hotel were the participating teams.
