KCCA Leopards vs. JKL Lady Dolphins – Lugogo, 6:00pm

The two times JKL Lady Dolphins have defeated KCCA Leopards, JKL have tried to break the combination of Flavia Oketcho and Martha Soigi on the pick and roll.

It was no different on Sunday when JKL beat KCCA 58-45 in Game 1. The league freshers took Soigi out of the game and KCCA struggled on all fronts.

Timothy Odeke, KCCA coach admitted nothing was right in the game

“Everything was not right. Yes, we tried to play some defense late in the game but nothing was right. We let them run at us, did not rebound.”

“We just didn’t play together, missed a lot of free throws and let JKL play transition on us. We slept on defense quite a lot. Basically we were reactive rather than proactive.”

However, Odeke who also serves as the Gazelles’ coach is confident his side will bounce back as it is only one game of five.

“It’s good for the team that it came in the first game of the series. We are working on all wrongs and we are not bothered. It’s just one game.”
