2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (Group A): DR Congo 2-1 Guinea

Fulham midfielder Neeskens Kebano and Everton Star Yannick Bolassie were on the score sheet for  DR Congo as the central Africans overcame Guinea 2-1 in a 2018 World Cup qualifying match to go top of Group A at the Stade Du 28 Septembre on Sunday night.

Slovan Bratislava midfielder Guinéenne Seydouba Soumah had earlier given Guinea the lead on 23 minutes from a well converted penalty as the first half ended 1-0 in favour of the visitors.

Kebano equalized 11 minutes into the second stanza of the game and Bolasie sealed the victory 120 seconds later.

The victory pushed DR Congo on six points from two matches alongside Tunisia who beat Libya 1-0 on Friday night, but the former have a superior goal difference.

The loss for Guinea is their second in as many qualifying matches and sees the West Africans at the bottom of Group A on zero points alongside Libya.

The third round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers will return next year in August.
