Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic has strongly denied reports linking him to South Africa’s Bafana Bafana job.

The Serb, who on Tuesday watched Sports Club Villa Jogoo humiliate Bright Stars 5-3 in the Uganda Premier League at Nelson Mandela National Stadium in Kampala asserts he is still committed to his job with the Uganda Cranes.
I strongly deny rumors and speculations about linking me with South Africa due to my unreserved loyalty to Uganda and absolute respect for South Africa.
Micho has had a splendid year with Uganda Cranes having guided the team through to the AFCON 2017 finals in Gabon, the first time in over 38 years.
Uganda is currently second in Group E with four points, two behind the leaders Egypt in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The coach has been linked to a number of countries on the continent including Botswana, Nigeria and Ghana, with South Africa joining the frey lately.

On Sunday, South Africa Football Association (SAFA) suspended head coach Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba less than 24 hours after guiding the team to a 2-1 home victory against Senegal in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Former assistant Coach Owen da Gama is now the interim coach for Bafana Bafana.

I urge Micho to remain with the Cranes. He may be working under challenges but that may not be compared to being sucked after a few games with the Bafana Bafana or the Black Stars of Ghana. It is much easier to work in Uganda because even without clear results coming through, no one may think of sucking you. You are at liberty to leave after finding a greener pasture. History will remind us of coaches who left the Cranes for greener pastures and they are no where right now. Here the targets are so low or not even there at all but in other federations, even warm up games is a must win. You are not going to loose friendlies like the Cranes are doing and you survive being sucked.
Micho, please stay at “home” here because the grass may look greener the other side but you may not enjoy for long.
