1st  National Handball Awards: 10th December 2016

Uganda Handball Federation (UHF) is set to organize their first ever awards in the history of the sport in Uganda under the theme “‘Celebrating ourselves, reuniting our family”.

The awards date has been set for the Saturday, 10th December 2016 at Hotel International 2000 Limited, Muyenga in Kampala.

UHF shall also recognize all major contributors to the sport including those who have served on the executive committees and commissions of the Federation plus other special groups including school head teachers and organisations.

The initial selection leading to the final shortlist of top performers involved all stakeholders.

The voting procedure for all the indicated categories shall involve all key stakeholders.

The Awards shall also be determined by the technical arm of the federation based on a detailed data analysis and reviews.

Best Media House (TV, Radio, Print, Social Media), the best Media Personnel, the Award for crowds’/fans’ favourite shall go to any player in the 2016 Handball season who shall gain the highest number of votes from the official voting site/social media page for Uganda handball Federation as of 9th December 2016.

Life time award:

The award for the first Life Time Award shall go to the “Father” of the game in Uganda, Nicholas Onegi P’minga, who introduced handball in the 70’s 1st to the Uganda Police, before its spread countrywide.

The awards organizing committee has Hannington Musoke, Rodrick Muhumuza, Esther Ssendagala, Esma Bazanye, Edgar Amooti and Arnold Kahuma.
