Egypt 1-0 Zimbabwe

Salma Ahmed scored the lone strike for Egypt in their 1-0 win against Zimbabwe in the on-going Women’s Africa Cup of Nations played  on Tuesday in Yaounde, Cameroon.

This was their first ever win at the finals following their maiden appearance in 1998 in Nigeria where they suffered losses to DR Congo (1-4), Nigeria (0-6) and Morocco (1-4).

The Egyptians perfectly recovered from the opening 2-0 loss to hosts Cameroon in the tournament opener last Saturday.

Egypt has three points, three shy of leaders Cameroon. Zimbabwe and South Africa follow in that order with a point each.

Egypt travels Limbe to face South Africa on Friday whilst Zimbabwe squares host Cameroon in Yaounde same time to avoid syndicate.
