The 2016 Kenya National Rally championship has been put to past with the season finale – Guru Nanak that took course on Saturday, 26th November in Naivasha.
Rajbir Rai picked from the previous event’s form cruising to the Guru Nanak Rally win.
Rai posted the fastest time of 1hr, 28minutes and 54seconds to secure his maiden Guru Nanak Rally win coupled with two stage wins.
“I am so elated to have won again considering that our car proved quite unreliable earlier in the season. It was such a tough rally but it’s always a great pleasure to win the Guru Nanak,” said Rai.

The rally was Rajbir’s last after he called it quits earlier in the season.
“I have done it now for four to five years and it has been hard for me traveling all the time from Uganda to here so now I feel I should have a break and concentrate on other things,”
Jaspreet Chatthe took second place with Ian Duncan settling for third overall. Baldev Chager and Tajveer Rai were in fourth and fifth respectively.
The rally also ushered in new champions in various categories of KNRC.
Eric Bengi scooped the 2WD championship, Chandu Devji went away with Group S while Ramesh Vishram sealed the Classic car category.
Other champions in the season are Tash Tundo in division three and Ian Duncan for Group N.
Out of the 42 crews that started the event only 18 made it to the final list.
The Tanzanian crew of Gurjit Dhani, Rajpal Dhani and Ajminder Dhani could not cross the FF due to mechanical problems.
