As soon as they quietly jetted into the country from Vietnam on Thursday afternoon, Sports Club Villa Jogoo players were driven to the tranquil confines of the lake side Nabinoonya in Kisubi, about 2km off the Kampala–Entebbe highway.

This is the umpteenth time that SC Villa is camping at Nabinoonya ahead of crucial league fixtures with the last time being that period when they were preparing for the Soana and Onduparaka double header at Namboole and Arua respectively.

The writing is on the wall that Jogoos are probably preparing for Saturday’s Uganda Premier League engagement with Vipers Sports Club.

No club official could comment on Nabinoonya camp although the club President, Ben Immanuel Misagga acknowledged that ‘some’ players had indeed returned from Vietnam.

In an interview with Kawowo Sports shortly after the team arrival on Thursday, Misagga noted;

The players you saw at Entebbe International Airport passed via Nairobi. We are still expecting more on Friday and Saturday because of the different flight arrangements. This is the main reason we asked the UPL Secretariat to push forward our fixture with Vipers.

Misagga is bitter with the UPL Secretariat who denied them the right to call for a postponement.

The law seems to be bent. We requested formally in writing for the fixture (against Vipers) to be postponed. We were still within the 48 hours rule.

FUFA Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Humprephy Mandu advised SC Villa Jogoo to respect the fixture since FUFA works independently of UPL Secretariat.

There is no way we could influence any decision since FUFA is working professionally and independently of UPL Secretariat.

Vipers host SC Villa Jogoo in a mouth watering clash, that has been largely been in doubt because of the Jogoo’s earlier request to have the game moved away although the league management turned down the request.

The game will thus take place at Nakivubo War memorial stadium this Saturday.

In Vietnam, SC Villa won 3 games, lost and drew two games apiece.
