Semi-finals:

Taggy 1-0 Gadaffi

12 year old Catherine Nagaddya was the star attraction during the 2016 Sseninde Women Development Cup held at Villa Park, Nsambya in Kampala.

Despite her diminutive structure, Nagaddya easily out-dribbled players twice her size and height.

Throughout the day long tourney, she shot at will and single handedly inspired Entebbe based Taggy Girls school to victory at the inaugural edition of the Sseninde women Development Cup.

Naggadya’s two goals in the finals capped the icing on the cake as Taggy Girls defended gallantly to win the tournament.

Sseninde, a QPR ladies’ defender cum midfielder initiated the tournament meant for non-licenced players (players who do not feature in the Women Elite league).

I want to inspire young girls to have belief in themselves and develop their talents.

Wakiso District Women Member of Parliament, Rose Mary Sseninde, also the state minister for primary education applauded all the teams and players that took part.

State Minister of Sports, Charles Bakabulindi hailed Jean Sseninde for the idea of the tournament.

Other guests at the tournament were; Barbie Itungo (wife to Musician Bobie Wine), Mande Atigo, the president of the Uganda National North America Association (UNNAA), Ahmed Hussein (FUFA Spokesman), Hadijah Namuyanja (FUFA Women Development Officer).

The tournament will be an annual event and various stake holders have already promised support to the event.
