Up country boxing in Uganda is not so prominent as in the capital city, Kampala.
Majority of the boxing clubs in the country are concentrated in Kampala
Needless to mention, most events of the sport are held in the center leaving the up-country with virtually less events.
Of late, there has been a nation wide boxing league with limited clubs from the countryside – as a large number of them are within the capital.
Given that back ground, the Boxing event organized in Jinja for Monday, 26th December 2016 (boxing day) will for a reason or another attract hundreds and leave key talking points.
The event is slated to take place at the Kyabazinga stadium in Bugembe township.
9 Clubs:
A total of nine clubs have so far expressed keen interest to take part in the event.
Clubs from as far as Iganga, Mayuge, Bugiri and Busembatia will all convey at Bugembe for the momentous event.
The full list of confirmed clubs are; Bugiri Dragons, U.P.D.F, Kamuli Shockers, Iganga, Jinja, Bugembe, Mafubira, Busembatia and Mayuge boxing clubs.
