- Massa and Aucho joined Baroka in the August transfer window
- The two are on the Uganda Cranes squad for the AFCON 2017 finals in Gabon
Baroka FC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Morgan Mamilla has quashed media reports on release of Ugandan internationals, Khalid Aucho and Geoffrey Massa.
This comes a few hours after reports from a South African portal SoccerLaduma indicated that Massa and Aucho have been released on advice on new head coach Jacob Sakala and the technical director, Mark Harrison.
Speaking to Kawowo Sports in an exclusive interview, Mamilla said the players are still part of the team and can’t be fired from the media.
“How can the players be fired from the media,” wondered Mamilla before adding;
Those players are still contracted with the team. We are busy with investigation on what transpired.
When tasked on what he meant with “we are busy with investigation on what transpired,” he insisted;
The players still belong to our team.
The duo joined the newly promoted PSL side in the August window although it took them a while to feature for the team due to work permit issues.
Massa and Aucho are currently with the national, Uganda Cranes as the team puts final touches to preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Gabon.
