- Vipers (Uganda) Vs Volcan De Moroni (Comoros)
- Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Kampala – 4 p.m

Fresh from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Gabon, Vipers Sports Club captain, Nico Wakiro Wadada is again up to the task, this turn with club business in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Vipers face Comoros cup winners Volcan De Moroni in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Saturday.
Wadada told the media in the official pre-match press conference in Kampala that he eyes a clean sheet as they attack to win with a comfortable margin in the first leg.
“We want to score as many goals and at the same time defend well so that we do not concede any goal,” Wadada noted.
Wadada is part of the pool of defenders on the team that will need to work as a unit for the target of keeping the clean sheet.
He vowed to lead by example, inspire and motivate the other players on the team.
“As a captain, I always play to uplift the morale of my fellow players. Also, I play like a champion and a leader,” he added.
Part of the Vipers’ team last season as the team debuted on the continent at the CAF Champions league, Wadada’s experience and confidence will be vital for the team in the game.
Wadada’s lung bursting energetic runs down the right flank have often left the opposition full backs with lots of provocations and questions.
He was part of the Uganda Cranes 23 man squad in Gabon, three of the locally based players on the team. Others were Joseph Ochaya Benson (KCCA) and Muhamed Shaban (Onduparaka).
