When Rwenzori Group outfit, Mbarara City take on visiting Sun City from Kasese, there is a lot to play for.

M.P Mwine Mpaka’s funded side targets nothing but the three points following a string of unconvincing performances in the recent past.

First, Mbarara City failed to honour their Uganda Cup Round of 64 duel to rivals Masavu, then they walked out in protest as their side ‘felt cheated’ in the away trip at Nabini Playground in Mbale against Kataka.

By the time of the abandonment, the match was ripe in the 85th minute with the home side leading 1-0.

At home against a very physical Sun City, Mbarara who have accumulated 24 points from 13 game face an acid test indeed.

Only maximum points will keep them in touching distance with the leading pack of Nyamityobora and Masavu.

Mohammed Ssekaba, a promising goalie who saved two penalties in open play against Kataka will be expected to rise to the occasion against Sun City.

South Sudanese lanky goal poacher Makweth Awol is expected to link up well with Brian Ahebwam Bebe Segujja and Bercy Methodious for the task of seeking goals.

The last time Sun City visited Mbarara was two months ago when they fell 4-0 to the home side Nyamityobora.

Coached by Asuman Bahati, Sun City will dwell upon the safe gloves of goalie Willington Bwambale.

With defenders Patrick Kusemererwa, Ronald Kamanje, Godfrey Katusiime and Peter Betungira, the backline will be well shielded.

The midfield and forward department for the Kasese based side has Dutch Ddunga, Geoffrey Sunday, Jolly Makata, Idirisa Mayanja, Joseph Akandwanaho and Iddi Kato

There are five games on Saturday in total that will be played on Saturday.

Kira United hosts their second game in a space of two days against Artland-Katale, Kataka plays Entebbe and Boma Young entertains Water in Hoima.

In the only Elgon group game, Maroons is at home to Moroto United in Luzira.

Three clubs will be promoted to the Uganda Premier League at the end of the season.
