- Event: 2017 Wildlife Marathon

Preparations for a successful second edition of the wildlife marathon are underway.
Close to 200 runners are expected to grace the event that is scheduled for this Sunday in Kampala starting from Kitante with the finishing point at the Uganda Museum.
According to Barirega Akankwasa, a commissioner in the Uganda Wildlife Authority, also the in-charge of the marathon organization, the preparations are in a top gear as Uganda prepares to join the rest of the world for the international Wildlife day on 3rd March 2017.
We have ensured thorough preparations for the 2nd Wildlife marathon with a bare minimal registration of Ug.shs 10,000 per individual and Ug.shs 200,000 for the corporates
Registration points are at the Uganda Wildlife Authority Headquarters, Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC), Tourism Ministry and the Uganda Museum.
Elite Runners:
Elite athletes attached to the Uganda Wildlife Authority as Winnie Nanyonndo, Musagala, Moses Kipsiro will also take part to spice the event.
Also, the reigning Uganda Miss Tourism Eldad Epiaka and other beauty queens will be part of the marathon alongside high profile personalities as ministers and members of parliament.
The run shall be held for the second time running following last year’s successful event with the winner expected to return home with Ug.shs 1M as well as a fully paid trip with the family to any national park in Uganda.
Between 1st to 3rd March 2017, there will also be a wild game exhibition at the Uganda Museum all to all.
