SC Villa striker Emmanuel Okwi described the 1-0 victory over Sadolin Paints in the league as massive.

The forward struck a beauty of a free kick to earn the Jogoos their first win in the second round after drawing three successive matches.

“It was a massive win,” he told Kawowo Sports. “It brings back our confidence and hopefully, we build on that for the forthcoming matches,” he added.

The former Simba and Etoile Du Sahel player has now scored 3 goals in his 4 appearances for the club but despite such a form, he says he never gives himself target for goals although he hinted at 12.

When I signed for the club, they told me how they expect me to score goals. I am not one to give myself targets but maybe 12 goals is realistic for me.

On his current form, Okwi thanked his teammates who have helped them settle easily and says the most important thing is the team not his personal goals.

It’s always good when you score as forward but the most important thing is the team. I am happy with the boys. They have helped me settle quickly and hope we achieve big things together as they are massively talented lads.

After drawing 2-2 with Lweza eight days ago, Shafik Bisaso was sacked and it’s been a tough week for the Villa Park side who sit second on the log with 37 points.

We had a tough week for everyone at Villa but what is important is that as players, we kept focus on the field of play and we finally returned to winning ways.

The 16-time record champions face a tricky tie away to Proline on Saturday in their next league outing.
