Despite falling two goals behind inside five minutes, KCCA put up a decent performance against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League as they left with a crucial away goal.

Geoffrey Sserunkuma goal in the 69th minute offers hope to the Kasasiro with a return leg in Kampala next week but how did Mike Mutebi and his players, rate on the day.

Benjamin Ochan 6.0: Had nothing to do with both goals although he should have done well to cut out the cross for the first. Organised his backline well and was really in command of his area after the two quick fire early goals.

Denis Okot 5.5: The team captain, like his teammates started bad and allowed two crosses that resulted into goals but later grew stature and improved. He was disciplined and offered something impetus going forward.

Joseph Ochaya 5.0: A little careless for the foul in the area for a penalty and should have pivoted well to deny the header for the first. He was below standards and often lost possession and going forward, his crosses weren’t perfect. Close to a bad day at office.

Habib Kavuma 6.0: He was brilliant against Castro and made a good foul for the team on Tau as he raced on goal. Unfortunately, he will be missed for the return leg after he got booked for the second time in the competition.

Timothy Awany 6.0: He was composed and made good decision. Unlike before, he was disciplined and never attracted by the ball.

Ivan Ntege 6.0: The diminutive midfielder was lucky to survive a booking after endless unsuccessful tackles on Tau but was never willing to give up.

Isaac Kirabira 5.5: Not the best of the games for the lad in the middle of the pack but made a few interceptions to deny the opponents from building up play.

Muzamiru Mutyaba 6.0: He showed flashes of brilliance with the ball at his feet but was never a constant threat he should be.

Brian Majwega 5.5: Played on the right flank with intentions to limit the overlapping right full back but rarely traced back and also occasionally failed to beat his man for a delivery.

Geoffrey Sserunkuma 7.0: He showed his predatory instincts with his third goal in as many CAF Champions League matches. Even without getting at the end of the balls, his movement was fantastic.

Paul Musamali 6.5: A surprise inclusion in the starting team but proved his doubters wrong with a good display. Before Sserunkuma goal, he was the closest to scoring for the visitors but his shot was dealt with by Wayne Sandilands.

Substitutes

Derrick Nsibambi 5.5: He made the assist for the only goal for the Kasasiro moments after he came on Kirabira.

Allan Okello N/A: Came on late for Sserunkuma but had a few good touches on the ball.

Coach Mike Mutebi 8.0:

His decision to start Musamali paid off and also became flexible by shifting to a back four instead of his preferred 3-man defence. The substitutions were also spot on.
