KCCA F.C manager Mike Mutebi is confident his side can knock holders Mamelodi Sundowns out of the CAF Champions League.

Uganda Premier League leaders and African champions face off on Saturday afternoon at Phillip Omondi Stadium in the return leg with the aggregate winner advancing to the group stages of the premier continental club competition.

After the Thursday training session, Mutebi said his players are in buoyant and have showed a lot of self-belief ahead of the game.

“The mood in the camp is positive but most importantly the players have the self-belief that they have what it takes to knock out Sundowns,” he told the club website.

“I’m confident that we can get the result we want because our style of play guarantees us to create chances and we shall create them. We only need to be effective and put them away.”

Mutebi also reflected on his players and their performance in the first leg at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

“They (players) were timid for first 15 minutes and we ended up conceding avoidable goals but along the way, the players grew in confidence and eventually played better. The fact is we created chances and I believe we would have gotten a much better result”

KCCA will bank on star striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma who has scored all their three goals in the competition and Muzamiru Mutyaba pulling the strings from the middle.

The winner on aggregate will advance to the group stages.

A 1-0 win can see KCCA through, while a draw is enough for the defending champions to advance.
