Emmanuel Kalyowa scored the only goal of the game on Friday as Soana edged Lweza 1-0 in the Uganda Premier League at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku to secure their first premier league win in 2017.
With both sides searching for their first win since the turn of the year, it was a predictably tight game, but the midfielder came to the rescue for his side who were coming from a morale-boosting 1-1 draw against KCCA at the expense of his former team.

The win, Soana’s seventh of the campaign, was Alex Isabirye’s first since taking over the managerial seat at the club early this month.
For Lweza, the loss was their seventh of the campaign and it leaves them stationed 14th in the table standings with 22 points. With only seven games left of play, Lweza’s chances of surviving relegation are increasingly decreasing.
Lweza alongside bottom side JMC now remain the only two teams in the league yet to taste victory in 2017.
