- Caf confederation Cup
- KCCA (Uganda) Vs Al Masry (Egypt) – Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo @ 4pm
Uganda only standing continental representatives seek early advantage when they host Egypt’s Al Masry in the first leg of the pre-group stage in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Kasasiro dropped to the continent’s second tier club competition after losing 3-2 on aggregate to Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Confederation Cup whilst Al Masry, coached by Egyptian legend, Hossam Hassan got a chance after FIFA banned Mali and thus AC Djoliba, which had won the Egyptians 2-0 in the first leg had to pull out.
Mutebi, who declined to speak to the press on match eve, will hope his side, without first choice centre backs, Timothy Awany (injury) and Habib Kavuma (suspension) keeps a clean sheet.
In their place, Mutebi will most likely with a back four with Isaac Muleme and Denis Rukundo manning the fullbacks as Paul Musamali and Denis Okot take up central defence duties.
The gaffer may be forced to recall Ivan Ntege, benched against Sundowns to partner Isaac Kirabira in the middle with Muzamiru Mutyaba and Allan Okello taking up the creative roles behind the main man, Geoffrey Sserunkuma who boosts of four continental goals in as many games.
KCCA have won just once in the previous four CAF games; 1-0 against Angola’s Primeiro de Agosto and will hope to another good outing of a clean sheet and victory.
KCCA probable line-up; Benjamin Ochan (GK), Denis Rukundo, Isaac Muleme, Paul Musamali, Denis Okot, Isaac Kirabira, Allan Okello, Paul Mucureezi, Muzamir Mutyaba, Brian Majwega, Geoffrey Sserunkuma
