2017 Airtel Buganda Masaza Football Tournament

Barely a fortnight to the long awaited 2017 Airtel Buganda Masaza football tournament kickoff, the organizing committee has been inaugurated.

The function took place at Bulange in Mengo, Kampala on Friday.

The Kingdom minister of Leisure and Sports, Owek. Henry Ssekabembe Kiberu presided over the ceremony before the media and other invited guests.

Kiberu harbours high expectations in the committee and believes they have the impetus to steer a great and far better organized Masaza tournament that before.

I have hope and belief that this working committee will serve to the best of expectations. The committee is comprised of experienced, committed and dedicated personalities.

Sula Ssejjengo is retained as the chairperson of the committee.

He will be deputized by Samuel Mpiima with former member of parliament Hon. Patrick Nsanja as the secretary.

Frank Bikeka is vice secretary of the committee.

Others include; Francis Kitaka (Treasurer), Faridah Bongoley (Publicity), Festus Kirumira (Technical), Enock Seruma (Vice in charge of Technical) and Owek. Hassan Kiyimba as member.

The opening match for this year’s edition will be hosted by defending champions Buddu at the Masaka Recreational stadium, against Mawogola on the 13th May 2017.

His majesty the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II shall grace the opening match.
