URA coach Ibrahim Kirya was left to rue missed opportunities following his side’s 1-0 loss to Vipers at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende.
Tony Odur scored for Vipers in the 59th minute in a closely contested tie on Saturday but the visitors should have taken a first half lead had Shafik Kagimu not missed a seater.
“I don’t think we deserved to lose but that’s football,” a devastated Kirya said. “We had the better of chances but failed to capitalize and we were punished,” he added.
Had Shafik (Kagimu) put that golden chance behind the net, the story would have been different.
The former SC Villa and Lweza coach however refused to shift blame to any of his players but was brave to shoulder responsibility.
Blame it on me but we now move on to prepare for another game.
It was the first time the Tax Collectors lost a league match under Kirya but they have now gone four games in all competitions without a win.
