KCCA have confirmed the signing of midfielder Ibrahim Saddam Juma from Express FC, a couple of days after we broke the story.

Saddam has signed a three-year deal that will see him play at Lugogo until at least May 2020.

The midfield gem was unveiled on Monday at Lugogo by Head Coach Mike Mutebi who revealed that his acquisition is very timely and will improve KCCA’s style of play.

“Certainly his acquisition is going to add to the way we play,” an excited Mutebi told the press. “I have always talked about clarity in our play and I have always been looking for a player that keeps the team circulating the ball in command,” he added.

That’s why we had Kirabira here to try to remedy that situation. Now we have Saddam, we believe he will add a lot in our play and we are excited to have him.

The former Vipers star is expected to make his debut in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday when KCCA play FUS Rabat in Morocco in the first of the six group games and despite a few days to the game, integration isn’t Mutebi’s problem at all.

He is an intelligent player. There is a difference between being talented and smart. He knows how the game has to be played with most of these players in affirmative age when growing up so they know each other. It’s not going to be difficult fitting in.

No action for Saddam in domestic competition

Nevertheless, Saddam’s unveiling means he can’t feature for either Express or KCCA in the domestic competitions until the end of the ongoing domestic season.

Whether the rules and regulations don’t bar him from featuring in the CAF Confederation Cup remains a mystery but the Kasasiro confirmed they have exploited all regulations that makes him legible.
