Uganda Cup

Fred Amaku’s second half goal was enough to send FUFA Big League side Paidha Black Angels to the finals of the Uganda Cup.

Despite losing 2-1 to Sadolin Paints in the return leg of the semifinals on Saturday at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole, Amaku’s away goal was just enough to see Paidha to the Cup final.

Karim Ndugwa had netted a brace in the first half to give the hosts some hope of overturning a two goal deficit but Amaku – who also scored to eject cup holders Vipers in the quarterfinals – came as a substitute to notch the one goal that his team needed in the 53rd minute.

It was a goal that wrapped up the evening as no more goals were recorded and the West Nile side edged the tie 3-2 on goal aggregates having won the first leg 2-0.

The side will now play KCCA or record cup holders Express in the finals that will be staged at the Green Light Stadium, Arua.

KCCA edged Express 3-2 on Friday at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo in the first leg of the second semifinal, with the return set to be played on Tuesday, May 30 at Wankulukuku.
