  • Test Match: Uganda Cranes 6-1 Copa Select Dream Team

Following the early session on Tuesday at Kabira club, Bukoto, there was little time to rest for the Uganda Cranes players.

Later in the evening, they engaged the select cream of players from the recently concluded Copa Schools Championship with a test training match played at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

There were no surprises as the match ended in favour of the national side, a 6-1 win.

Danish-based midfielder Robert Kakeeto, who features at Aalborg opened the goal galore.

Second top scorer at the schools tournament, Joel Madondo of champions Jinja S.S found the equalizer moments later.

SC Villa’s Martin Kiiza and Proline’s Nelson Senkatuka ensured the national team ends the first half with 3-1 lead.

Enter the second half, Belgium-based Farouk Miya, KCCA’s Allan Okello and former Sonderjerskey striker in Denmark Emmanuel Okwi (now with SC Villa) wrapped up the business for Micho’s side.

Vipers number one goalkeeper Isma Watenga was used upfront as a striker.

Micho virtually used two different sides for the test training match meant to further give him a clear picture of the players mental and physical fitness levels, game awareness and overall assessment.

The national team continues with day two of residential training on Wednesday with yet another double session.

The players are accommodated at Sky Hotel in Naalya.
