Nearly three months ago, Richard Wasswa’s reign as interim coach at Vipers Sports Club came to an end after the club unveiled Jorge Miguel Da Costa as the new head coach.
The Portuguese coach who breaks off this weekend for a month long holiday had a meeting with his players who he is proud of.
“I had a wonderful beginning with the team and I want achieve more with you in future. We did not win any silverware but I can describe our season as a success altogether. I am proud of all of you and know we shall do our next time,” Miguel told players as quoted by the club website.
With the exception of Nico Wadada, Deus Bukenya, Ismail Watenga and Milton Karisa who are on Uganda Cranes duty, all players attended the meeting.
Da Costa told his charges they have to better their performance next season having finished third in the league with 52 points.
“We have to return stronger and hungrier for success next season, so don’t go into this break to sleep but go and think about how you can be the best and work towards that.”
The team is expected to resume training at the start of next month.
