Ugandan international Yasser Mugerwa was among the unused substitutes as Ethiopia’s St. George collected their first maximum points of the 2017 Total CAF Champions League.

The Ethiopian champions overcame DR Congo’s AS Vita 1-0 in Addis thanks to Salahdin Said lone strike.

Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Robert Odongkara missed the game through injury as the win lifts the side to second on the Group C table, above reigning African champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Brazilians lost 2-1 at home to Tunisia’s Esperance with Ugandan custodian and national team captain, Denis Masinde Onyango in goal for the hosts.

Sundowns return to action on June 23 away against the Tunisians whilst St. George will also be away in DR Congo as AS Vita seek to put their campaign back on track.
