Over the past three or so seasons, Derrick Nsibambi has grown into a dependable striker at KCCA Football Club.

Nsibambi has so far scored seven in the Uganda Cup and netted all the goals for KCCA in the CAF Confederation Cup save for Tom Masiko’s thunderbolt against Club Africain.

He took his tally in the competition to four with a well taken brace against Rivers United of Nigeria in the 2-1 win on Saturday to the delight of fans and team manager Mike Mutebi.

Asked to comment on the performance of the young forward, Mutebi said: “He was great. He is still growing well as a striker and can only get better

“However, we should not get carried away. We should let him develop and play on the national team when he is ready. He is in the generation of (Nelson) Senkatuka and (Muhammad) Shaban, they are not yet there.

“He can always stay on the fringes (of the national team). He is not good enough, for now he is still developing as a center forward.
