In a bid to identify raw talent and possibly bolster their squad ahead of the new Uganda Premier League season, Luzira side Maroons have embarked on trials.

The exercise commenced on Monday 5th June, with over 20 players from across the country making appearance and seeking to be recruited by the club.

Hoping to make the cut are three lads from Football For Good, an academy in Gulu. The exercise is expected to last for over a week.

As it is the norm at Maroons, the Prison Wardens are looking to recruit young talent with special emphasis put on defensive midfielders, right backs and attacking midfielders. The club is looking to retain a total of eight players at the end of the exercise.

Maroons earned promotion back to the premier league after they finished atop of the Elgon group in the FUFA Big League in regular season last term.

They were crowned 2016/17 Big League champions following their 2-1 victory over Rwenzori group winners Masavu in the finals last month.
