Despite camping in nearby Senegal for close to a week now, a big batch of the Uganda Cranes players will only be in Cape Verde on match day.

This was confirmed by the team Media officer for the game, a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Cup qualifier, Hamza Nsereko Kawuma aka Africana who stated that only seven players have so far touched base in Praia with the rest expected to join on Saturday morning.

A batch of seven Uganda Cranes players has arrived in Praia City of Cape Verde while the rest will join on Saturday morning ahead of the AFCON 2019 qualifier against the home side.

The seven are strikers Shaban Muhammad, Derrick Nsibambi, Emmanuel Okwi, Geoffrey Sserunkuma defenders Isaac Muleme and Bernard Muwanga plus midfielder Robert Kakeeto.

No explanation has been given for such travel arrangement though.

Distance and time from Dakar to Praia

According to Google maps, the distance between the two cities is over 660km (401 miles) and the flight takes at least an hour and 33 minutes.
