AFCON 2019 Qualifiers:

  • Group A: Sudan 1-3 Madagascar

Madagascar condemned Sudan to a 3-1 defeat in a Group A match of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers match played at El Abyad stadium in Sudan.

Faneva Andriatsima gave the visitors a first half lead with the opening goal on the night after a quarter of an hour played.

Carolus Andriamahitsinoro’s 62nd minute penalty made it 2-0 before Atahir pulled a goal back for the home side on 73 minutes.

With 6 minutes from time, Faneva Andriatsima extinguished Sudan’s hopes of a late equalizer with the third goal for Franck Rajaonarisamba’s side.

Madagascar tops the group with the other group match between Senegal and Equatorial Guinea to be played on Saturday at Stade Leopold Sedar Senghor in Dakar.

The second games will take place on 28th March 2018 with Uganda Cranes hosting neighbours Tanzania in one of the games.

12 successful countries that will top their respective groups will be joined by 3 best runners up and the host country, Cameroon for the 2019 edition of the Nations Cup.
