AFCON 2019 Qualifiers (Group H):

  • Ivory Coast 2-3 Guinea

Guinea shocked Ivory Coast 3-2 in the opening Group H encounter of the AFCON 2019 qualification campaign on Saturday evening.

The home side took the lead through Seydou Doumbia in the 15th minute to set alight the fans at the Stade De Bouake facility.

French based striker Abdoulaye Sadio Diallo, who turns out for Bastia replied with the equalizer two minutes after the half hour mark as the two countries returned to the locker rooms tied one goal apiece.

Doumbia, playing for Swiss club Basel (on loan from AS Roma) once again gave the Ivorians the lead on 62 minutes.

The excitement was once again extinguished with a quick goal from Girondins de Bordeaux striker Francois Kamano 4 minutes later.

Germany based forward Naby Keita, plying his trade at RB Leipzig grabbed the winner 11 minutes to full time for a memorable victory away from home that gives them the command of Group H.

Meanwhile, the other group match will be played on Sunday.

Central African Republic hosts Rwanda at the Stade Barthelemy Boganda in Bangui City.
