Mali recovered from a goal down to edge visiting Gabon in Group C of the 2019 AFCON qualifier played at the Stade 26 Mars in Bamako on Saturday.

Denis Bouanga gave Gabon the lead in the 3rd minute of the game.

The home team, coached by Frenchman Alain Giresse replied in the 54th and 57th minutes with Kalifa Coulibaly and youngster Yves Bissouma scoring respectively.

Burundi leads the group following their comprehensive 3-0 victory against South Sudan at the Prince Louis stadium, Rwagasore in Bujumbura earlier on Saturday.

The next round of games will be played on 23rd March 2018.

South Sudan will Mali in Juba and Gabon shall take on Burundi in Liberville.
