On Thursday, June 15, KCCA FC will take on Paidha Black Angels in the final of the 2017 Uganda Cup at the Green Light Stadium in Arua.

One of the players manager Mike Mutebi will be counting on against a side that eliminated last year’s winners enroute the final is midfield maestro Muzamir Mutyaba.

And the former SCVU man wants all the focus to shift to the game that will put them in the history books of the club as the first group to win a double.

“We must stay focused, pay a lot of attention in training but also make sure we fine tune those areas that have made us standout,” Mutyaba told the club website.

“No team in the history of the club has ever won a double. We have a chance to achieve that and write our names in the history books of KCCA FC.

“That alone drives us to go out there and give our all, give our best because we believe we are good enough to achieve that.”

KCCA FC will be playing in a record sixteenth Uganda Cup final and chasing a ninth cup.

The Lugogo-based side has however not seen victory in the previous four finals with the most recent being a 3-0 humbling in 2015 by SC Villa at Namboole.

Their last victory came in 2004.
