Gor Mahia will have to contest the remaining fixtures of the Kenya Premier League (KPL) minus Brazilian Jose Marcelo Ferreira aka Ze Maria after he resigned.

The former Brazilian international who was named Coach of K’Ogalo in March last year revealed this in a letter to the club president.

Ze Maria doesn’t mention why he has decided to throw in the towel at arguably Kenya’s biggest club but appreciated the opportunity to work with the club which he guided to second position last season.

Below is the FULL letter:

Dear Mr President, I hereby submit my resignation request to terminate my contract from the position of the head coach I have held since March 2016 to date. Thank you for the consideration and trust given to me by the club throughout my working period here. I must also mention the great pride I had in training this giant club, the biggest in Kenya, where I had the privilege of winning some trophies, losing others, seeing many talents grow and see them playing for the National Team. Thank you very much, I will always be a fan of you.

He leaves the record Kenya Premier League winners top of the standings with 27 points after 13 games.

Ugandan international Godfrey Walusimbi plies his trade at the club.

Meanwhile, former Harambee Stars coach Zedekiah Otieno takes over on interim basis until when the club will announce the official replacement for the Brazilian.
