Zambia’s Kleevan Gomes has his targets set for the weekend’s Pearl of Africa Rally, the fourth round of Africa Rally Championship series.
Gomes who recently suffered from a roll during the home championship getting his right hand injured, will have his grip on the top ten finish during Pearl Rally.
“I would like to aim top for ten in the Pearl. My hand is not fully healed following an incident from our home event were I rolled a few times.
“So I will be careful not to mess up my hand during the rally so will play it smart and work with strategy.
“If I can make top five in ARC then that will be great but top 10 will still be good as I will get points and it’s better getting any amount of points then sitting out the Pearl,” he told Kawowo Sports.
Gomes is currently sixth on ARC standings with 15 points from four events.
After going through Kenya and South Africa, Kleevan Gomes awaits to carry on a new experience as he takes on the fourth round of the 2017 Africa Rally Championship in Uganda.
The Zambian will be making his debut in the Pearl Rally and anticipates much different feel from his previous events.
“Kenya was my first ARC event and everything was new compared to what we were used to in Zambia. Going to South Africa it was another new experience all together.
“And I cannot wait for what Uganda has for us. We have heard of the biggest fan base in the region, passionate fans and much more,” said Gomes.
Kleevan Gomes will be navigated by country mate Riyaz Latife in a Mitsubishi Evo IX.
And they will partner with Leroy Gomes and Usrhlla Gomes to represent Zambia.
