  • Warriors 72-66 Power

Michael Bazangu was in fine form as Warriors kept their unbeaten start to the season intact with a 72-66 win over Power on Friday night at YMCA.

Both sides got off to a rocky start but settled in mid-way through the opening quarter with old-time rivals exchanging runs but Warriors eventually won the quarter 25-20.

Warriors were in ascendancy in the second period and stretched the lead to as much as 16 points before closing out the quarter leading 39-25.

The Bazangu show continued in the third frame and the 2012 champions pushed the lead to as much as 18 and went into the final period up 17 (58-41).

Power employed the press in the fourth quarter and got a few baskets and Warriors seemed to be succumbing but the six-time champions were in a hole so deep and eventually lost 72-66.

Bazungu piled up a season high 36 points and picked 7 rebounds. Syrus Kiviiri (14 points) was the only other Warrior to reach double figures.

Michael Makiadi led Power with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Paul Odong and Isaac Afidra contributed 11 points and 10 points, respectively.
