Uganda netball U-21 team, She Pearls are already in Botswana ahead of the World Youth Netball Championship slated to start Saturday in Gaborone.

The team of 12 players and 4 officials left Kampala on Tuesday and arrived safely.

The captain of the side, Joan Nampugu is optimistic the team will perform well after the great preparations;

We had good preparations for the past month and i believe we shall perform well at the championship.

Uganda is pooled in Group C, alongside Jamaica, hosts Botswana and Cook Island, Malaysia.

Uganda will start its campaign against Malaysia on 9th July at 14:00hrs in Ditshupo Hall, Gaborone.

A total of 20 countries will take part in the tournament held every four years.

This is the first of its kind to be hosted on the African continent.

The 2013 edition was hosted in Glasgow, Scotland ,where New Zealand was crowned the overall winners.
