Tried and tested KCCA center forward, Geofrey Sserunkuma will captain Uganda Cranes in the upcoming CHAN 2018 qualifiers.
The development has been confirmed by the head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic ahead of the team’s Monday evening training session at Namboole.
“KCCA FC striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma will be skipper of the team ahead of the 2018 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifiers,” Micho confirmed.
He will be assisted by Vipers’ captain Nico Wakiro Wadada and SC Villa’s Bernard Muwanga.
Sserunkuma has been given the nod ahead of the rest for his worthwhile experience and dedicated service to the game for club and country
Both Wadada and Muwanga were captains in either halves as the national team lost 1-0 to the Western Region Select team at Kabale Municipal stadium on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the team resumes training on Monday evening at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Uganda will travel for the first leg against South Sudan set for Friday, July 14 in Juba.

Defenders: Wadada Nico, Timothy Awanyi, Muwanga Bernard, Kabugo Savio, Toha Rashid, Musamali Paul and Adiriko John.

Strikers: Geofrey Serunkuma, Derrick Nsibambi, Nelson Sekantuka, Shaban Muhammad and Karisa Milton.
