Uganda Cranes CHAN captain Geoffrey Sserunkuma has promised a better showing for the national team in the return leg against South Sudan.
South Sudan held on gallantly to register a goalless draw with the return leg set for next Saturday at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo.
In an exclusive interview shortly after the team arrival at Entebbe International Airport on Saturday, Sserunkuma was upbeat ahead of the return leg.
We played well although goal scoring failed. We shall improve in the return leg
The KCCA forward missed a penalty in the 53rd minute after a foul on Milton Karisa. To him, the missed penalty opportunity was just like any other chance missed.
We attacked and attacked well but goals were not forthcoming.
I think it was not our day to score. We shall however better our efforts in the return leg at home

The aggregate winner over the two legs will play either Tanzania or Rwanda for a slot at the 2018 CHAN tournament in Kenya.
Rwanda held Tanzania in the first leg to a one all draw at the Mwanza stadium on Saturday, 14th July 2017.
CHAN is a tournament for only home based players.
