Innocent Oguda’s seven year relationship with Prisons side Maroons has officially come to an end.
There had been whispers of Oguda resigning his position at the club, and now the former defender has made it official.
Oguda who joined the former league champions in 2011 as a player and became club CEO in 2016 cites need to dedicate more time to ‘personal businesses’ as reason for his decision.
Oguda said in a statement: “I cannot thank the club enough for the opportunities provided to me as both a football player and CEO.
“It’s been great working with the players, coaching and non-coaching staff, the media and all other stake holders in the game. I have been fortunate to meet quite a number of interesting people and made lots of friends in this journey; this is all thanks to Maroons FC.
“Working with Maroons FC has been incredibly instrumental in my personal growth and the club remains dear to me. I have loved my job and I will look back on my time here with wonderful memories.
“As i look to invest more time on personal businesses, I’d like to wish the next club CEO the very best of luck and good judgment in the running of the club. I believe the club is now in a good position to register greater success in the Uganda Premier League.”
Prisons officer Robert Mukyasi is tipped to be the next Maroons CEO.
