Jackson Jesse Were has extended his contract at Zambia’s Zesco United by two years.
The Kenyan international has previously been linked with a move to the Premiers Soccer League (PSL) and China but opted to remain at Zesco United for the next two years.
The former Tusker FC centre forward and also a golden boot winner in the Kenya Premier League has been a pillar in Zesco United’s attack since he joined close to two years ago.
Just this campaign, the striker has scored 14 goals in all competitions including three in the Total CAF Confederation Cup where they are into the quarter finals.
The former Zambia champions just a couple of weeks ago sold striker Idriss Mbombo and brought in Ugandan international, Davis Kasirye to help take the goal scoring burden off Were.
Were is among the flock of Kenyans who ply their trade in the FAZ Super League including Clifton Miheso and John Mark Makwata (Buildcon) plus teammates Akumu and David Owino Odhiambo.
